Try to think of one new construction project that does not use dirt, sand, aggregates or all three. They may be out there, but they are few and far between. However, when we think of recycled materials, dirt rarely comes to mind. Those in the construction industry know that “disposing” of contaminated dirt (non-hazardous) and/or finding a good “clean fill” can be difficult. In some areas the only option is to landfill contaminated dirt and soil, filling much needed landfill space with a material that when recycled through washing can be cleaned and put back into service. On average more than 90% of the material that comes in can be recovered!
Founded in 2022 by partners Andrew Paluszkiewicz and Ken Griffin, their process encompasses the use of a closed system that washes and screens the material, including the water used in the process! The only waste products are the contaminates and any small waste material such as plastic that are filtered through the system. The and landfilled in the form of a residual clay cake also filtered through the process. At the end of the process Eco Materials creates six new products ranging from sand to 2” clean washed stone. If you have dirt that you need to dispose of and/or you are in need of clean aggregates and you are in the Philadelphia area and want to reach out to Eco Materials, they can be reached at https://ecomaterialsllc.com/ or 267.764.4600.
