I recently had the pleasure of visiting Pat LaMorte at All American Recycling in Joliet, Illinois, and it was a great look at a company that has quietly built one of the most versatile scrap metal and demolition operations in the Chicagoland area.
All American Recycling was founded in 2010 in New Lenox, Illinois, and has grown steadily ever since. Today the company operates locations across Chicagoland, including Joliet, Aurora, Ford Heights, Blue Island, and Chicago, with a fleet of company-owned trucks, drivers, and mechanics supporting every job. That kind of vertical integration is not easy to build, and it is a big part of why customers across the region trust All American to deliver reliably, whether the job is a small drop-off at the yard or a full-scale industrial demolition.
The company specializes in ferrous and non-ferrous metals, but their capabilities extend well beyond a traditional scrap yard. All American handles C&D processing, commercial demolition, railcar dismantlement, and everything in between. One of the things that sets them apart is that they can deploy mobile processing equipment directly to a demolition site, preparing and processing scrap on the spot rather than shipping it back to the yard first. For contractors on tight schedules, that kind of on-site capability makes a real difference in keeping a project moving.
All American is also active in the broader recycling and demolition industry, holding memberships with CDRA, the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries, and the National Demolition Association. That kind of cross-association engagement shows the seriousness with which Pat and his team approach the business, and it also makes them a great resource for other members who are navigating multi-disciplinary projects.
What stood out most during the visit, though, was how the team operates. There is a clear commitment to doing the work right, on time, and with the kind of integrity that keeps customers coming back. Fifteen years in, All American Recycling continues to grow because they earn it every day.
Thank you to Pat and the entire All American Recycling team for the visit and for the work you continue to do across Chicagoland. All American is exactly the kind of member that makes the CDRA community what it is.
